Adventure Weekend in Pembrokeshire, Wales

So we spent the weekend as one with nature, escaping our crazy, hectic, city life to stunning Pembrokeshire in Wales. After a 7 hour train trip from London and a 20 minute taxi ride through the dark countryside we ended up at the Preseli Adventure Lodge. In the middle of nowhere.

The weekend started of with a 3 hour walk along the spectacular Pembrokeshire coastline. So spectacular that we stopped to take lots of happy snaps and ended up having to powerwalk for the last hour to ensure we'd be back at the lodge in time for lunch.

Saturday afternoon was spent kayaking up and down a stretch of the coastline. Having heard stories of people tipping over we were all a bit nervous but the sea was pretty calm and we soon got the hang of it. Pete had a bit of an incident which I doubt any of us will ever let him forget about.

Sunday morning was the activity we were all anticipating nervously - coasteering. If you've ever been canyoning, its very similar except you're out in the open. We started off belly flopping from a small rock into the freezing water; it was a shock to the system. We soon warmed up and before we knew it we had climbed a small cliff and were jumping off into the sea. We swam into caves and made our way across the coastline, stopping to jump off small cliffs along the way. It was exhilarating. When we weren't climbing and jumping we were swimming and unlike the previous day, it was fairly choppy so it was fun to be riding the waves that crashed in.

I felt so incredibly chilled, relaxed and calm after coasteering. This lasted until about 9am the next day when I got into work.
